Strategy Variety - Sports ESPN STAR to launch `TNA Wrestling' in Hindi Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 31 ESPN STAR Sports has announced the launch of `TNA Wrestling' in Hindi. The sports network also announced that it would drive a strong marketing campaign to build the popularity of localised wrestling. Under the programme, Sonjoy Dutt, the Indian-American wrestler, along with 2 other leading wrestlers of `TNA Wrestling' would visit India for a promotional tour in September 2005. The first episode would be broadcast on August 2 on STAR Sports,. Mr R.C. Venkateish, Managing Director, ESPN Software India said, "Our research has pointed out that there is a demand for wrestling in Hindi, that localisation will greatly help in increasing the understanding for wrestling and that localisation will help us in opening new markets for the sport."
