HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to launch a health insurance scheme for the farming community at an annual premium of Rs 100. The scheme offers a cover of Rs 1 lakh.

The Government has initiated talks with various insurance companies to offer a very attractive and affordable insurance scheme. Addressing a press conference here the other day, Mr Dharmana Prasada Rao, Minister for Revenue, said the Government had studied similar efforts in other States, including the Karnataka scheme, to prepare nitty-gritty of the scheme. He said the Andhra Pradesh scheme would be far more superior to the one in Karnataka.
