Three States make claims for revenue loss due to VAT

New Delhi , Aug 1

THE Centre has so far received compensation claims from three States for revenue loss due to implementation of value-added tax (VAT).

Maharashtra, Bihar and Tripura have made compensation claims, official sources said.

As per the information furnished by the State Governments for the first quarter of the current financial year, Bihar is the only State that has incurred revenue loss, in absolute terms, compared to the corresponding period of last year.
