Outsourcing `No impact of bandh on BPO operations in Gurgaon' Our Bureau
New Delhi , Aug. 1 THE bandh called by trade unions on Monday had no impact on the operations of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in Gurgaon. "There was no impact of the bandh, and business continued as usual. Our cabs continued to operate normally and there were no reports of any disruption in business activities," Mr Amit Bhatia, CEO of Knowledge Services, WNS Global Services, said. eFunds, which has close to 1,000 employees working in Gurgaon, said the company continued its operations without any problem. "In fact, with the management and the agitating workers of Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India reaching a settlement, we did not foresee any issues," a company official said. Shops remained open and traffic was as usual on the roads, although police were deployed in large numbers in the satellite township in view of the bandh. "Last week, the bandh call by the Left parties had triggered off panic among various BPO companies in Gurgaon on the issue of business continuity. But things have now cooled off substantially. A lot of people are not even aware of the bandh," Mr Karmeshu Agarwal, Head - Finance and Administration, Evalueserve, said.
