Onam sales campaign

KOCHI: To cash in on Onam festival season, various consumer electronics companies have come out with various offers for customers in Kerala.

Hyundai Electronics, which began operations in the State from March this year, has planned an exciting offer "Ela Nivarthu ... Sammanam Nedu" for every purchase of colour televisions from August 1 to September 25. The customer will be given a card in the shape of "sadya ela" which they will open to reveal gifts.

Mr D. Anand, Zonal Manager, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, said that Hyundai Electronics, which began operations in the country in 2004, is aiming to achieve a turnover of Rs 600 crore by the end of this current fiscal. Of which, he said Rs 25 crore will be mopped from the Kerala market.

Philips India Ltd had also kick-started its Onam campaign by offering its customers an opportunity to be part of the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany.

Besides offering tickets to the World Cup, Philips will have a feast of offers across CTV's, home theatres, mini systems and mobile phones, Mr Suresh Sukumaran, Director (TV Marketing), said. The offers include extended warranty and scratch card offers with assured gifts. The Onam celebration would run across all major Philips outlets in Kerala effective from August 15 to September 15, he said.
