Sugar Mawana Sugars net zooms Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: The Siddharth Shriram group company, Mawana Sugars Ltd (MSL) has posted 127 per cent higher net profit of Rs 17.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, with net sales rising by 8.2 per cent to Rs. 173.7 crore. "The year has been excellent, sales growth robust and outlook is positive. We expect sugar prices to remain at remunerative levels for the foreseeable future," said the Managing Director, Mr Siddharth Shriram. MSL has been formed as a result of the restructuring of Siel Ltd, a company that dealt in sugar, chemicals, vegetable oils besides having other investments. The company has two plants in Uttar Pradesh while the third one is being built by a subsidiary of MSL. The new plant will take the combined crushing capacity of MSL to 20,000 tonnes per day.
