No move to introduce legislation on SC/ST quota in pvt sector

New Delhi , Aug. 1

THE Government on Monday said that there was no proposal to introduce legislation in Parliament on the issue of reservation to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the private sector.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ms Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, said the State Governments have not been consulted in the matter.
