Intricate furnishing

Mohammed Yousuf

Migrant craftsmen from Sahranpur in Uttar Pradesh chip away at wood pieces to turn them into exquisite works of art at a woodcraft shop in Musheerabad in Hyderabad on Tuesday. They charge between Rs 2.50 and Rs 10 per square inch for the intricate artwork. The demand for such works, they say, is on the increase from areas like ECIL Kukatpally and Madhapur, where new colonies are coming up.
