Container vessel Arizona leaves Kochi

Maersk Arizona, one of the longest container vessels, anchored at the Kochi port.

MAERSK Arizona, one of the longest container vessels, has left Kochi after a day's port of call. Built in 1984, the vessel is owned by Maersk Line Ltd, US.

The vessel has an overall length of 239.26 metres, 30.60 m beam and 1,722 TEUs capacity. The longest container vessels to call at Kochi port till date were 182-m long EAX Sincerity and EAX Sanctity, a press release from the port said.

The gross registered tonnage of Maersk Arizona is 40,594 tonnes and the vessel can carry general and reefer cargo containers. In this voyage, 191 TEUs of containers having 6,500 tonnes general cargo were discharged from the ship and 200 TEUs with 3,800 tonnes general and reefer cargo were loaded, the release added.
