Thai Food Festival in Coimbatore from today

THE Residency, Coimbatore, is hosting a Thai food festival from August 4 to August 14 between 7.30 p.m. and midnight at Chin Chin, its Chinese restaurant.

The Festival is offered as a special a la carte menu along with the standard dinner menu at Chin Chin, except on Sundays, when it is offered for lunch as well.

The special Thai menu includes three vegetarian and two non-vegetarian starters, three vegetarian and one non-vegetarian salads, four vegetarian and seven non-vegetarian soups, four vegetarian and 24 non-vegetarian main dishes, apart from a selection of noodles and rice.

Classic Thai vegetarian dishes include Kaeng Kurie Chae (vegetables in yellow curry), Phut Phat Bai Kapaiow (stir-fried vegetables with basil leaves) and Phat Phak Met Mamuang (stir-fried vegetables, baby corn and broccoli with chilli paste).

Special Thai non-vegetarian dishes include Kiew Tiao Khaa Mao Kai (Thai flat noodles with chicken and basil), Khao Phad Bai Kapaiow Kai (rice cooked with chicken and basil in Thai style), and Pla Laat Phrik (whole fish fried with red chilli and herbs).

The standard oriental dessert menu including stuffed lychees in chocolate, ice kachang, dates pancakes, banana and apple toffees, Tarzan noodles and fried ice cream will be available.
