Orchid's Ceftriaxone gets US FDA approval

THE Chennai-based Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd today announced that it has received the formal approval from the US FDA for its generic Ceftriaxone ANDA (Abbreviated New Drug Application).

The approval has been received for Ceftriaxone for injection, 250 mg, 500 mg, 1gm and 2 gm single-dose vials, 1gm and 2gm piggyback vials and 10 gm/100 ml pharmacy bulk package vials.

"Orchid will distribute its Ceftriaxone generic formulations in the US exclusively through Apotex Corp. Orchid has already shipped the product to the US based on prior FDA clearance and Apotex will start distribution of the products to its customers today," says a company press release.
