Infosys plans to invest $65 m in Chinese arm

INFOSYS Technologies said on Thursday that it planned to invest $65 million in expanding the operations of its Chinese subsidiary over five years.

Infosys, which is setting up two new facilities in Hangzhou and Shanghai, plans to ramp up its headcount to 6,000 in China over five years from the present 250.

The company has tied up with the Administrative Commission of Hanghzhou Hi-Tech Development Industry Zone - Hangzhou to set up a development facility in Hangzhou, where it plans to invest $15 million. Infosys has also signed up with Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park to set up the development facility where it is investing $10 million.
