NEW DELHI: Phoenix Yule Ltd, manufacturer of conveyor belts, has executed a 2.5-km long pipe conveyor belt at ACC's plant at Chaibasa in Jharkhand. The belt will transport limestone from the limestone pits situated 2.5 km away from the cement manufacturing plant. To increase the clinkering capacity of the plant to 4,000 TDP, ACC required huge quantities of limestone to be transported for nearly 2,500 metres.

ACC envisioned a pipe conveyor system mounted on the existing rail tracks. Phoenix Yule is joint venture between global major Phoenix CBS of Germany and Andrew Yule & Co. Ltd. Phoenix Yule is the largest exporter of conveyor belts from India, with shipments to 24 countries.
