Lupin Q1 net jumps 109 pc

MUMBAI-BASED drug maker Lupin has registered a 109 per cent growth in net profit for the first quarter ended June 30. The company has clocked a net profit of Rs 43.2 crore as against Rs 20.6 crore in the previous year, a note from the company said.

Sales revenue for the quarter under review increased by 21 per cent at Rs 365.5 crore as compared to Rs 302.6 crore, in the same period last year.

Export revenues increased by 30 per cent at Rs 158.7 crore, as compared to Rs 122.4 crore, following a good offtake in the export markets, the note said. Domestic revenue saw an overall increase in both the bulk ingredient as well as the finished dosage segments resulting in a 15 per cent growth at Rs 206.9 crore, against Rs 180.2 in the same period last year, the note said.
