Jet extends `check fares' scheme to entire network

New Delhi , Aug. 5

JET Airways on Friday announced the extension of prevailing instant purchase `check fare' scheme that offers tickets at reduced rates to passengers on a first-come-first served basis. The new scheme that starts from Saturday (August 6) will cover almost the entire network on which the airline operates.

The airline has also decided to do away with the earlier restriction of the passenger booking at least 15, 21 or 30 days ahead of travel to get tickets at reduced rates. However, passengers already booked on the Apex scheme will be allowed to travel as they had planned, the airline said in a statement. "The introduction of the scheme will see the passenger paying less than what they were earlier for travel to some destinations while flights between some cities may become costlier," a senior airline official said.

A passenger wanting to travel between Chennai and Coimbatore will have the option of flying at fares varying from Rs 2,220 to Rs 4,020 depending on how early the ticket is purchased. Similarly, for fares between Mumbai and Mangalore the fares will start at Rs 2,920 and peak at Rs 5,220 while on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai sector fares start at Rs 4,320 and go up to Rs 8,220. The airline will offer 10 different fares options between Delhi and Bangalore starting at Rs 3,820 and going up to Rs 6,020.
