Telecommunications Reliance Infocomm covers 500 towns in TN Our Correspondent
According to Mr V.G. Somasekar, RIM Geography Head, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, 600, besides 10,000 villages are proposed to be covered under the company's phase II network roll out by December. Reliance Infocomm's 80,000 km of terabit fibre optic network forms the backbone of its expansion. The network can support unlimited and uninterrupted voice, data and video applications across the country. Currently, it covers over 3,000 towns and around 150,000 villages in the country besides major highways and rail routes. There are plans to cover under phase II, 5700 towns and 400,000 villages nationally, he added.
