New B-school opens in Chennai

THE Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation, Salem, and Centennial College, Canada, have launched the Vinayaka Centennial Canadian Business School in Chennai.

The school will offer courses in international business, human resources management and business operations management.

There is an option of a twinning programme wherein second and third year students will study in Canada, backed by a paid co-op work opportunity for three to four months at the end of each term, according to Dr A.S. Ganesan, Vice-Chairman and Pro-Chancellor, Vinayaka Missions, which is into education, health care and information technology.

Students can study the entire course in India and the course fee will be Rs 1.60 lakh. In Canada, it is Rs 3.7 lakh. Due to the lower costs, students from Canada are likely to travel to India for the course, Dr Ganesan told newspersons.

On completion of the course, students become eligible for a work permit for two years in Canada and one year if the course is done in Toronto. The college will also facilitate educational loans for interested candidates, he said.
