Letters A dismal decision
This refers to EPFP proposal to amend the 1995 EPS Scheme to ban withdrawals prior to the super-annuation age of 58 years. The decision will do little good for those middle-class families who have taken housing and education loans solely on the faith that their PF accumulation would take care of the loan repayment. Considering the huge number of families it will effect, the decision is sure to be counter-productive. N. Krishnamurthy Chennai
