Bill on women's reservation

The Women's Bill (for reservation in Parliament and Assemblies) has been talked about and discussed for more than a decade.

The Communist parties have rightly pointed out that there is no need for any more debate outside Parliament on the long-pending Women's Reservation Bill and demanded an open discussion on the floor of the House before putting it to vote.

Some suggest that the number of seats should be increased to accommodate the 33 per cent reservation for women.

Others want it ensured that the reservation is not be for the creamy layer.
