HYDERABAD: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 171.39 crore for improving infrastructure of high schools and providing protected drinking water in Andhra Pradesh.

In a press release here on Wednesday, Mr V Tagat, General Manager of Nabard (AP), said the funds would be released under the RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund). Of the Rs 171.39 crore, Rs 158.70 crore would go to improve infrastructure in 784 high schools.

About three lakh students were expected to be benefited.

The remaining amount would be spent on providing drinking water in Nandikotkur mandal of Kurnool district and Armoor mandal of Nizamabad district.
