HINDUJA TMT, a Hinduja group company, has located its call centre on Cathedral Garden Road here.

The company has leased about 35,000 sq ft of a 20-year-old building, according to Mr Sanjay V. Chugh, Head-Agency, Chesterton Meghraj, international property consultants.

The architect, Mr Hafeez Contractor, is renovating the building. This call centre will start with a seating capacity of 600 to service AirTel in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The company plans to leverage Chennai's strength in the healthcare services and enter this service segment in the US.

Sources said that Chennai has a cost advantage over other cities. The company decided to locate its call centre in Chennai to take advantage of the lower cost in real estate, the quality of human resources and the lower attrition rate, sources said.
