KAMDHENU Ispat Ltd has signed an agreement with the Belgium-based Centre de Recherches Metallurgiques for installing Temcore technology at its plant in Bhiwandi.

Announcing the tie-up here on Thursday in a press conference, the Chairman, Mr Satish Aggarwal, said that the company has invested Rs 2 crore for installation of this technology in the plant.

The company has also made a foray into cement manufacturing and has already launched its product under the Kamdhenu brand in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi, he said.

The company would now market Temcore TMT bars which is a reinforced heat-treated steel bar used for construction purposes. According to Mr Aggarwal, this technology provides additional strength that brings down the total amount of steel used in building without compromising on the strength.

The company is planning to expand its brand through the franchise route. He said that as of now the company manufactures its own products at three facilities and has tie ups with another 14 companies in various regions which manufacture Kamdhenu branded products.

The company is also in the process of increasing its franchisee network to capitalise on the growing construction industry and has a set a target to raise output capacity to 3.75 lakh tonnes by the end of the current financial year, he said.
