Hyderabad , Aug. 13

THE Hyderabad-based Reliance Fire & Safety Ltd (RFSL) claims to have developed a catalyst that enhances mileage by fuel savings of up to 30 per cent.

Two drops of the fuel saver `Abis Tech' per litre of petrol or diesel can help increase mileage and save fuel. Abis Tech also reduces pollution, increases life of the engine and lowers engine noise, the company claims.

Having recorded up to 30 per cent of fuel savings in light motor vehicles and up to 15 per cent in heavy motor vehicles in the internal research findings, the company went ahead with the institutional trials for further validation, the RFSL Chairman and Managing Director, Mr C. Andrew Gabrrial, said.

According to him, the company has already received certifications substantiating its claims on fuel savings from the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and Singareni Collieries Ltd.

The company has also submitted its claims to the Petroleum Conservation Research Association for its validation. It has applied for patents in the country and measures are on to apply for global patents as well, Mr Gabrrial said.

Meanwhile, the company has approached various automobile majors, both two- and four-wheeler players, to obtain validations. These include Maruti Udyog, Ford, Tata Motors, Hero Honda and Bharat Heavy Earth Movers. RFSL has decided to make the product available in consumer packs of 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml.

According to Mr Gabrrial, the 5 ml pack costs Rs 150 and can be used for up to 100 litres of petrol or diesel. At the existing prices of petrol and diesel, the consumer can save over Rs 1,000 per 100 litres using the fuel saver, he said.

The company has separate packaging for the industrial users ranging up to 100 litres. According to Mr Gabrrial, the focus would be more on high-usage groups like small generator users, paper mills, sugar mills, chemical industries, pesticide manufacturers etc.
