Mumbai floods

It was depressing to hear that despite the grave warning by the senior IAS officer, Ms Rani Jadhav, in her report, filed in the aftermath of the Mumbai floods, on why the city failed in its management of the calamity, that no steps have as yet been taken to rectify the deficiencies in the crisis management system.

And now we are faced with the loss of thousands of lives, property, mental peace and a raging epidemic that is sweeping across Mumbai.

G. R. Vora
