Social freedom

This refers to the article, "Corporates go on air for a cause this Independence Day" (Business Line, Aug 15).

The idea to instil a sense of social conscience that would inspire people to participate in various social and developmental issues is welcome.

Unlike various developmental issues that require monetary investment, social justice in the form of freedom from fear, hatred and discrimination is free.

It could, in turn, make development initiatives more affordable and successful.
