Dredging Corp plans joint ventures for Sethu project

Visakhapatnam , Aug. 15

THE Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) is striving to become globally competitive and to that end, it has hired a reputed consultant to suggest areas of improvement, according to Mr N.K Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director.

He said, at the Independence Day function in the Dredge House here on Monday, the DCI had been nominated one of the contractors for the Sethusamudram Project and had started work on it. "The DCI is at present dredging in E3-E4 stretch of the channel. For the remaining phases, the corporation is looking to have joint ventures with major international companies," he said.

He said the corporation's work in Bahrain was commendable.
