The fire broke our on July 27 when ONGC's multi-purpose support vehicle (MSV), Samudra Suraksha collided with the ONGC platform.

The Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar, told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that his Ministry is in the process of setting up the committee to look into the circumstances leading to the accident and other related matters.

"The relevant agencies, such as the Flag Officer Defence Advisory Group and the Advisor Offshore Security and Defence to the Government of India (FODAG), the Director General of Shipping and representatives of insurance and the Director General of Hydrocarbon (DGH) are proposed to assist the committee and provide their expertise," Mr Aiyar informed the Lok Sabha today.
