CavinKare CEO to deliver BL Club lecture today

Chennai , Aug. 16

THE CEO and Executive Director of CavinKare, Mr K.S. Ramesh, will deliver the academic year's first BL Club lecture at Tiruchi's Bharathidasan Institute of Management on Wednesday.

He will speak on the `Winning strategies of strong brands'. "Successful companies grow their businesses on the foundation of strong brands, which are built through painstaking work requiring "perseverance of principles and strategies in the midst of hostile competitive pressures and barriers," he says.

His talk will focus on six generative strategies and the prioritisation of those strategies that could help build strong brands. The first three strategies, which form the basis for building winning brands, include a strong differentiated concept, a superior product and a high value for money. The second set of three strategies are the enablers, and these include building sustainable brand equity, creating experience through trials and strong execution at point of sale.

But enablers cannot stand on their own; they make sense only if the fundamentals or the basics are strong.

Apart from understanding and practising strategies that work, knowledge of strategies that must be avoided is also key to building brands, a point which Mr Ramesh will focus on.
