Chennai , Aug. 16

INDIAN Overseas Bank on Tuesday launched, in association with National Insurance Company, a scheme that provides health cover to account holders and borrowers.

The insurance cover is available to the entire family of the account holder — spouse and two dependent children.

The family can get access to network hospitals by producing the card provided by the third party administrator and get cashless treatment.

Launching the product today, the Chairman and Managing Director of IOB, Mr T.S. Narayanasami, said that a healthcover for Rs 50,000 a year was available for "less than the cost of a daily cup of tea".

Mr Narayasami told Business Line that the bank would soon launch another health insurance scheme only for senior citizens, whom the insurance company usually do not cover.
