New textile showroom in Coimbatore

Our Bureau

Coimbatore , Aug. 17

SRI Ganapathy Silks, a textile retailer in Tirunelveli district, is opening a showroom here on September 7 at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.

The last big-ticket textile group to set up shop in the city was the Kalyan group from Kerala a couple of years ago. There is a feeling that the textile retail space has saturated in Coimbatore. But Mr G. Muthuswamy, Managing Partner, Sri Ganapathy Silks, remains unfazed and is confident that there is room for more large retail outlets. Speaking to Business Line here, he said his family has been in textile business in Sankarankoil for more than five decades. Since the nearby towns like Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi did not offer enough business potential Coimbatore was an obvious choice.
