Hyderabad , Aug. 18

APITCO has formally launched a Centre for Promotion of International Partnerships among the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME-CIP), as a part of its long term efforts to promote international collaborations.

Speaking at a news conference, its Managing Director, Mr S. Srinivasa Rao, said about 182 SMEs have joined with APITCO in exploring overseas partners.

The SME-CIP would provide services in awareness-building and networking, ancillary services, training, demonstration projects and information-sharing. The Saudi delegation visited Hyderabad Batteries, Apparel Export Park, Srini Pharma, Vimta Labs, Kakathi Karshak Industries (Agri Implements), Snow World Theme Park, Naturite Agro Industries and SKM Tools.

A team of professionals led by Mr Rao had visited the Saudi Kingdom in March this year and identified potential sectors for partnerships among the SMEs in the two countries. APITCO has made its presence felt in West Asia, Asia-Pacific region and the African continent in the SMEs sector, he said. The Saudi team came as a part of APITCO's International Cooperation Programme to explore opportunities for collaborations. The delegation was led by Mr Yousef Al-Hamdan, Chairman, Middle East Power Projects.
