TAKING advantage of the recent Comprehensive Economic Co-operation Agreement (CECA) between India and Singapore and further consolidating the Look East Policy, the West Bengal Government has identified several sectors for investors of Singapore.

According to Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, these sectors are medical equipment, electronic items, building construction equipment, tyre production, electrical items and management education.

Mr Bhattacharjee was addressing the members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry at a seminar of India-Singapore synergy post-CECA and role of small and medium enterprises.

The Chief Minister added that he is going on a visit to Singapore next week and he would be accompanied by a big delegation of businessmen. According to him, CECA is an important agreement and it would help the cause of economic growth in both the countries. In this context, he said that education, infrastructure and industry were three areas of mutual interest between the two countries.
