Edible oils rule steady

GROUNDNUT oil continued to rule lower on the local edible oils market on Saturday in line with weak Gujarat advices amid scattered buying, a trader said. Other edible oils remained steady.

In edible oils, groundnut oil ready was down Rs 5 at Rs 490 for 10 kg.In imported oils, RBD palmolein was steady at Rs 363 per 10 kg.

Soya refined oil imported was steady at Rs 352 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was up Rs 2 at Rs 345 per 10 kg.

Castorseed October futures ended higher at Rs 1,575 per quintal, higher by Rs 27 over previous close.

Sugar: Spot prices ruled weak on the Vashi wholesale market on Saturday in the absence of fresh buying coupled with increased offerings, a trader said.

Small grade (S-30) was down Rs 20 at Rs 1,836/1,880 a quintal over previous day.

Medium grade (M-30) was down Rs 2 at Rs 1,891/1,930.
