Hyderabad , Aug. 20

AN estimated 60,000 plus job aspirants visited The Hindu Opportunities Fair on the first day. The two-day event is being held at the Hitex Grounds in Madhapur, Hyderabad.

About 35 companies participated in the fair in which candidates had an opportunity to interface with company representatives directly; a few hundred of them secured job offers. The event is being presented in association with Cognizant Technology Solutions, iGate Global solutions, Verizon and eServe, among others.

About 70 stalls, representing various companies, provided direct access to job aspirants from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Ram Kumar of Cognizant Technology said about 60 people were offered jobs in diverse areas such as testing and embedded technologies. These job fairs serve two objectives - they help career aspirants meet with companies directly, and also provide companies a chance to tap into a large pool of talent not only from top institutes but also from tier II centres.
