Advertising rmg david to revamp operations Our Bureau
Mumbai , Aug. 22 POST the restructuring of rmg david's operations, Mr Kumar Subramaniam, the newly appointed President at rmg david, will handle the job of getting new business for the agency, while its erstwhile head Mr Josy Paul, who has been elevated as the National Chairman will be responsible for the creative product of the agency. Mr Kumar Subramaniam, still holding the post of Vice-President, O&M India told Business Line, "All this time, Josy Paul had nobody to partner him. Now, we will be partners whereby, I will be in charge of the business of the agency, while Paul will look after the creative product.'' With the onus of building the david brand in India, rmg david, which is partly owned by O&M, is expecting to set itself an ambitious growth rate for the year ahead. "All this time the agency has been doing decently but now we intend to grow exponentially. After all, there is great talent working here with a passion for their work and we intend to drive that passion," claims Mr Subramaniam. Waiting to get the mandate from its parent company WPP, about stretching the david brand across the region, there are plans to make the agency have a regional network. "The david brand does exist in other countries, including Singapore, and at the moment building a regional network is still a grey area which is being discussed,'' he added. rmg david was set up nearly six years ago, as an additional agency for O&M. "rmg david was set to provide a different communication solution to clients. At that time, the management at O&M felt the need to have an agency, which would service the needs of clients differently. Clients needed a different kind of agency, possibly a leaner agency than O&M. There were such clients that O&M could not take on and to avoid such conflicts rmg david was set up in India,'' explains Mr Subramaniam. With almost 65 employees at its three branches in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, there are also chances of the agency spreading its operations within the country. "We will certainly add more offices as and when there is business in certain cities," he said.
