Rubber rules flat on poor buying interest

DOMESTIC physical rubber prices continued to rule flat on Tuesday.

Most of the market participants were not interested in making fresh commitments at this juncture.

Some tyre companies were reported to be buying at lower levels, but only in small quantities.

In the futures, September contract was quoted at Rs 56.74 (Rs 56.71), October at Rs 55.76 (Rs 55.53), November at Rs 54.90 (Rs 54.71) and December contract at Rs 54.90 (Rs 54.84) per kg for RSS 4.

RSS 3 September futures improved to 171.4 yen against 168 yen at TOCOM.

The spot rubber prices (per kg) were: RSS-4: Rs 56 (Rs 56); RSS-5: Rs 53.50 (Rs 53.50); ungraded: Rs 50.50 (Rs 50); ISNR 20: Rs 52.50 (Rs 52.50); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 37.50 (Rs 37.50).
