MR S.K. Goyal will take charge as General Manager of BHEL's Corporate R&D Division with effect from Thursday. This follows the retirement of Mr S. Balagurunathan, Executive Director, on superannuation.

Mr Goyal, an IIT-Kanpur alumni, joined Corporate R&D in 1977 and worked in the areas of vibration/noise analysis and failure analysis among others. He has solved several problems associated with chronic failure and vibration at power plants, sites and shop floors, and was instrumental in developing new methodology for fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance of power plant equipment.

Prior to joining BHEL, Mr Goyal worked with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Thiruvananthapuram, from 1973 to 1977 in the areas of vibration analysis and rocket launch vehicle testing.
