Chennai , Aug. 25 D3D TECHNOLOGIES, a Chennai-based company, is launching a range of GPS (Global Positioning System) products for the markets in the South beginning with Chennai. At a press conference, Mr Shashidar Sharma, Chief Executive, D3d, said that the range, from Garmin, the US-based market leader in GPS systems, included products that will help users find their way around Chennai, the outdoor enthusiasts and sports lovers go around the wilds and the fishermen and sailors to navigate. GPS is a navigation system that uses an array of 24 satellites, put in space by the US Department Defence, available to the public. D3d has digitised the Chennai map that also pinpoints over 30,000 points of interest such as restaurants, petrol bunks, and hospitals.
