VISAKHAPATNAM: Amara Raja Batteries Ltd is aiming at 20 per cent growth in sales turnover during the current financial year, according to Mr Ganesh Swaminathan, the national sales manager.

He was addressing a press meet here on Thursday on the occasion of opening the Amaron PitStop at Gajuwaka near here. It is the thirteenth exclusive showroom in the State and the sixty-seventh in the country.

He said the company had achieved sales of Rs 220 crore during 2004-05 and Rs 82 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year. "The market is good and we are confident of achieving the target," he said.

He said 20 more such showrooms might be set up during the year. "Amaron PitStop at Gajuwaka will provide our customers the right kind of ambience to buy the batteries with qualified technical assistance. The newly-launched racing edition batteries will also be available here." Mr Swaminathan said the company was exporting batteries to Japan, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka and Dubai.
