Reliance Energy unit trips

MUMBAI: Reliance Energy has informed the BSE that one unit of 250 MW at its 500 MW Dahanu Thermal Power station had tripped at 7.15 a.m. on Thursday.With that unit constituting nearly half of its capacity, Mumbai suburbs stand to be affected, unless the company draws on power from other producers in the region.

The unit is currently under inspection, said the company, which did not elaborate further. After it located the cause of the fault, the necessary repairs would be undertaken.
