Spot rubber mixed

SPOT rubber prices were mixed on Friday. Covering groups turned slightly active as certain major manufacturers continued to procure sheet rubber at the prevailing rates.

RSS 4 improved by 25 paise to close at Rs 55.75 against Rs 55.50 a kg at Kottayam but closed steady at Rs 55.50 at Kochi. While ungraded rubber and ISNR 20 followed suit on better demand from the non-tyre sector and north Indian buyers, the remaining grades were flat and comparatively inactive.

The rubber futures showed a firm trend on Friday. The September delivery contract was quoted at Rs 57.15 (56.60), October Rs 56.14 (55.60), November Rs 55.94 (55.31) and December contract at Rs 56.12 (55.40) a kg for RSS 4RSS 3 spot improved further to Rs 67.84 from Rs 67.20 a kg at Bangkok. Spot prices a kg were: RSS-4: 55.75 (55.50); RSS-5: 53.50 (53.50); ungraded: 50.75 (50.50); ISNR 20: 52.75 (52.50); and latex 60 per cent: 38 (38).
