New Delhi , Aug 30 EVEN before the Group of Ministers (GoM) takes a decision on the mandatory sharing of telecast rights for events of national importance, Prasar Bharati has entered into agreements with both ESPN-Star Sports and Zee Telefilms for one-day international matches. According to Mr K.S. Sarma, CEO, Prasar Bharati, "Both ESPN and Zee Telefilms have agreed to share the feed with Doordarshan. This will include the matches organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)." The agreements were signed before the bids for acquiring the four-year telecast rights were submitted. Mr Sarma said that the revenues would be shared between the private and public broadcasters. "The revenue share would be on a 25:75 ratio, with the larger portion going to the private broadcaster," he said. Prasar Bharati would not be getting any "opportunity cost" it managed to earn earlier. Besides this, the agreement envisaged sharing of direct feed of every match involving the Indian team, and also of the semi-finals and final. "We have insisted on the semi-finals and final as a separate clause as there can be a case where the Indian team does not reach these stages, depriving the viewers of action," Mr Sarma said.
