Policy AP Govt firm on GO 610 implementation: CM Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept. 1 THE Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Thursday reiterated that the GO 610 that relates to employment in the Telangana region and addressing the regional imbalance, was being implemented in letter and spirit. Reviewing its implementation, which has become a matter of debate, in accordance with the recommendations of the J.M. Girglani commission, Dr Reddy sought the progress made in this issue. He was reviewing the matter with the Chief Secretary, Dr Mohan Kanda, the Principal Secretary (Services), Mr A.K. Goyal, and other senior officials, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office. The Chief Minister directed immediate rectification of certain violations as alleged by the Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Mr A. Narendra, in his communication to him. He instructed that the study of the recommendations of the commission by the Group of Ministers (GoM) be speeded up to facilitate early implementation. The Government agreed to strengthen the monitoring cell in the General Administration Department (GAD) created last month to monitor and implement the G.O. and provisions of the Presidential Order by pooling staff from within the GAD. The GoM held discussions on this issue and sought the remarks of departments. They later held discussions with all party leaders to ascertain their opinion and suggestions. An officers committee was later constituted based on the suggestion by the GoM to examine the reports and proposals submitted by the Secretariat departments and head of departments. The Officers Committee examined the information furnished by the departments on deviations pointed by the commission, suggested some modifications and finalised the report to be placed before the GoM. The TNGOs Union also submitted a representation requesting their involvement in the discussions.
