Kolkata port handles record throughput

A container feeder vessel with full load arrives at the Netaji Subhas Dock of the Kolkata port. Container throughput at the port has been rising steadily. In July the Kolkata Dock System handled 18,606 TEUs, the highest throughput in any single month so far. Between April and June, the throughput, at 48,405 TEUs, showed 36.5 per cent growth, the highest among the country's container handling ports.
