Market for the high-priced CTCs remained steady, tending to ease by Rs 1-2, while the medium varieties remained steady to irregular, as the orthodox high grown and secondaries tended to ease.

The best CTC varieties quoted between Rs 65 and Rs 85, medium ranged between Rs 55 and Rs 63, and below medium was Rs 21-33. High grown BOPD quoted between Rs 95 and Rs 116, while secondaries ranged between Rs 24 and Rs 27.

The tea leaf sale, which had 2.23 lakh kg on offer witnessed good general demand. Orthodox high grown brokens and whole leaf grades remained steady.

Mediums and secondaries, as well as CTCs at the leaf sale also remained steady. Other CTC varieties remained steady to easier.

Support for the good quality high gowns came from exporters to the CIS countries, while exporters to Iraq buttressed the secondaries market.

The best Nilgiri varieties fetched between Rs 55 and Rs 80, medium orthodox quoted between Rs 37 and Rs 48, even as best CTC leaf realised between Rs 43 and Rs 45 and medium CTC leaf fetched between Rs 35 and Rs 37.

Fannings of best Nilgiri varieties were quoting between Rs 54 and Rs 99, medium orthodox fannings at Rs 35-37, best CTC leaf fannings at Rs 44-52 and medium CTC fannings realised between Rs 37-40.

Kodanad BOPD realised the best prices at the leaf auction at Rs 116, Parkside BOPD at Rs 114, Pasupari FD at Rs 108 and Kil Kothagiri BOPD at Rs 102. In the dust section, Chamraj OP fetched Rs 100, Havukal BOP realised Rs 99, Curzon BOP was Rs 91.85 and Chamraj FOP quoted at Rs 90.
