Rs 2 cr loan for retail segment from PNB (Aluva)

KOCHI: Punjab National Bank has disbursed Rs 2-crore loans under retail segment at a function held in Aluva. Beneficiaries from nearby places such as Angamaly and North Parur also attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr R.S. Pillai, Regional Manager, Ernakulam, said that the bank is receiving a good response from the public for its Independence Day Bonanza scheme launched from August 16 by the bank. The bank has also started celebrating Savings Month till October 10 all over the country.

Idea new number schemes

KOCHI: Idea Cellular on Tuesday launched a new number series and announced that its customers can choose the number they want in the new series. The new numbers series will start from `9947' and customers can choose the rest of the number themselves.

IDEA officials claimed that it is the first time such a facility is being extended to pre-paid mobile subscribers in the country. Also, the existing IDEA customers, who go for a second connection in the new number series, can avail themselves of a 30 paise per minute call between the two numbers.
