Fuel prices

The rising crude price and steps to meet the challenge seems to be on everyone's mind nowadays. "A pricing policy for the petroleum sector" (Business Line, September 6) is indeed timely. While the Left is against a hike, it appears the Government has no alternative but to do so.

The government should have a transparent mechanism to deal with fuel price hikes.
