Ajita Shashidhar

Mumbai , Sept. 6

JWT India has recruited 19 creative professionals across its offices in the country in the last two months. This is expected to help meet its worldwide goal of upgrading creative talent and delivering more effective work to clients.

While the most prominent appointments are that of Mr Bruce Matchett, JWT India's new National Executive Creative Director, and Mr Agnello Dias (of Leo Burnett), as Vice-President and Executive Creative Director, the agency has recruited creative talent in middle management also.

Mr Patrick Pitcher, Area Director (Asia Pacific South), told Business Line that the agency would invest heavily on training programmes to improve creative skills of employees. "We want to be recognised as an agency which creates the most effective advertising. Our new vision statement has made us more accountable to clients," said Mr Pitcher.

The agency will also launch an internal Web site, featuring the creative works of various offices in the JWT network. "The idea is to engage everyone in the new vision and get every employee to discuss about the various works done each month," said Mr Colvyn J. Harris, Chief Executive Officer, JWT.

Mr Harris also mentioned the agency's lunacy programme, during which each office hosts its best work for the period, ranked by the worldwide creative council.

The agency, according to Mr Pitcher, was also eyeing acquisitions in India in direct marketing and digital marketing. He said these areas offered lot of scope and the agency wanted to explore them.
