BCE seminar to discuss issues concerning oilseeds

THE Bombay Commodities Exchange Ltd (BCE) has organised a one-day seminar with the theme "Opportunity and challenge in the oilseeds and vegoils complex" in Mumbai on Saturday.

The seminar would examine in depth, issues that the impact the physical as well as the futures market.

Topics to be discussed at the seminar include regulatory issues (implication of VAT, FBT, FDA changes etc); online trading initiatives (technology platform, clearing and settlement); and dispute settlement mechanism, a BCE release said.

The price outlook session is expected to crystal gaze into latest oilseeds crop prospects (both India and global), supply and demand fundamentals and their drivers; impact of new developments such as bio-diesel, high crude prices, freight market, forex and Asian rust disease, the release said.

Mr B.C. Khatua, Sales Tax Commissioner (Maharashtra), would be the chief guest and share his views on VAT. Other speakers include Mr Suresh Kotak (President, FICE), Mr Kailash Sahara (Chairman, Nbot), Mr M. Pusalkar (CEO, Godrej Foods) and Ms Deena Mehta.
