STRIKE NOTICE: Members of the Joint Action Committee of APSRTC trade unions serving strike notice on Mr M.V. Krishna Rao, Managing Director of the Corporation, in Hyderabad on Thursday. - P.V. Sivakumar

Hyderabad , Sept. 8

THE Joint Action Committee of trade unions of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has served the 42-day strike notice.

The staff might begin anytime within 42 days.

Serving the notice on Mr M.V. Krishna Rao, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC, the JAC gave a list of 14 demands that included revision of pay scales and sharing of the Rs 1,350-crore debt burden.

The list also included exemption from professional tax and freedom to buy new buses.
